Any questions please call the park office at or email laura. Hunters must sign in and out of the park at the office daily when hunting within the boundaries of the park.

Hunting is not permitted within feet of any building, road, playground, or parking lot, and all trails are considered safety zones where hunting is not allowed. Pre-registration by phone required!

This mini workshop will introduce hobby naturalists and rock enthusiasts to basic principles of sedimentology and stratigraphy. In the first half of the program, we will talk about common rock forming minerals and practice identifying them. In the second half we will discuss different sedimentary rocks and sequences of rocks and interpret their depositional environment - specifically the abundant greywacke found on the Rensselaer Plateau. Krystyna Krysia Kornecki is a paleontologist and paleolimnologist currently employed as the manager of school programs at miSci - Museum of Innovation and Science in Schenectady.

She is passionate about experiential education, environmental protection, and promoting a culture of life-long learning. Program will be held on Sunday, Nov 14th from pm. Ages 13 and up. Pre-register now as space is limited! Call to register. Step outside at night in the park.

Learn about nocturnal animals, the beginnings of our moon, and more. Join us out on the trail after dark! Program will be held on Friday, Nov 19th, pm. Ages 7 and up. Enjoy a hike in the park, walk off some pumpkin pie, and skip the Black Friday hubbub. Guided by an environmental educator, we will enjoy the open beauty of November on this 2-mile hike around one of our most special ponds.

Please bring your own water, close-toed shoes, an extra layer, hats, gloves, and walking stick or hiking poles if you have them. This is a moderate hike with some rooty, rocky, and wet sections. Program will be held on Fri, Nov 26th, am. No charge. This trail is not stroller accessible. Take a hike to see four out of six of our lakes on this mile afternoon trek.

North and South Ponds both have beaches and swimming, without life guards, is doen at the North Pond day use area. North Pond has a boat ramp. Both ponds have nice picnic sites. See full description of Savoy Mountain State Park. This state forest has a cozy and refreshing linear feet of calm beach, with picnic facilities for that post-swim hunger.

See Brimfield State Forest for full description of this park. This state park has a acre lake with clear waters. The lake has picnic sites with charcoal grills and lifeguards watch swimmers. The eastern end of the lake has a public boat ramp.

The lake offers excellent fishing for bass and trout. The parking lot, boardwalk and restrooms are accessible to wheelchairs. Ball fields are available for play. Also the park has a volleyball court, a horseshoe pit, and a nature trail. Leominster State Forest has two ponds. Crow Hill Pond has a swimming beach, a changing house, two picnic areas with tables and grills. Lifeguards are on duty from mid-June until Labor Day. This pond also is stocked with trout.

The other pond is Paradise Pond. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, parking fees are charged in the paved parking lots. This property also is used for hiking, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. This beach, on a freshwater pond, offers tennis courts, a basketball court, a softball field, and other playing fields, picnic area, playground, restrooms.

Lifeguards and gate attendants on duty 8 a. This pond is located within the city's Bell Hill Park, and it is popular among Worcester residents. Along with other city of Worcester beaches, it is typically open for general public access the first week of July through the mid-August.
